SHIBORI RESIST-DYEING WORKSHOP – 16/06/2024 (expired)

Description

COURSE:

Each participant will be given small pieces of white fabric and, depending on the design that we will select, participants will design the seams, folds or knots to be applied.
During the second part of the workshop, we will prepare the vat for dyeing with natural indigo and we will proceed to dyeing the fabric.
The samples made during the course will be part of a small catalogue with the recipe for dyeing with natural indigo that each participant will be able to keep.

PROGRAMME:

13:00 – 15:00  Presentations and brief introduction to the use of natural indigo and Shibori technique. Explanation of the different Shibori designs and preparation of the fabric for dyeing.
15:00 – 17:00  Preparation of the vat bath for dyeing. Dyeing the fabric with natural indigo and preparation of the sample book.
