Carmelo is one of the most talented and creative chefs I’ve ever met. His curiosity, together with his constant research and his innate ability to combine tastes and flavours make his recipes always unique, surprising and delicious.
Carmelo has an extensive culinary experience. He has worked as main chef for several restaurants before following his free spirit and becoming a “travelling cook” (as he used to define himself) and he ended up opening his own Caro Melo restaurant in Donnalucata, Sicily that he calls “osteria rituale” (ritual tavern). A truly poetic approach to Mediterranean cuisine. Not to be missed!

Gennaro is a multi-starred chef of international renown: after founding his prestigious restaurant La Torre del Saracino in 1991 in Vico Equense, his hometown, he was awarded his first Michelin star in 2001 and his second in 2008.
But in addition to his undisputed talent and fame, the qualities that make Gennaro a special chef and for which he has all my respect and admiration are: his love for his land, which is reflected in the choice of products he works with and in the preparation of his dishes; his humility, which I have been able to appreciate during our collaboration; and his attachment to his family, which is always in his thoughts, even in the most stressful moments.
I am flattered and honoured to have had the opportunity to work with him and to continue to count him among my favourite collaborators. I can only highly recommend his excellent restaurant La Torre del Saracino, located in a picturesque setting by the sea in Vico Equense.
